Welcome!My online presence over the years has been driven by my expertise and my passion for the subject. Along the way to earning a fulltime living online I've taken advantage of many tools and resources - my mix of tools, insights and ideas forming my own homegrown solution for online success. It's always been a work of love and still is, but in 2005 my son suggested that I make money using Google's Adsense. I thought, OK, I'll try. Things were getting tougher and my consulting buiness wasn't what it once was. At first I only made a few hundred dollars a month with Adsense. slowly I started working it and my Adsense earnings grew over the years to more than $3,000 per month. Mind you, achieving this was all by the seat of my pants mostly. I'm dumb in a way in that I usually try to reinvent the wheel instead of learning from others. Well, as the economy worsened, my income started decreasing and Adsense dropped to around $1000 a month and it's been there since. I figure that until the economy gets better - if it ever does - It's sort of 2 steps forward and 1 step back for most any business. We all have to work harder or SMARTER than ever to make a good income nowadays. But, I wasn't going to let the drop in Adsense income get me down. To add to my income, I started actively seeking other advertisers and I wrote an eBook about my experiences in the home based salvage and recycling business. I have also learned how to at least maintain present Adsense revenue as the economy continues to tank (note: 2 steps forward, 1 step back is maybe more like 2 steps forward, 2 steps back). Just staying even in this economy is success in my book. I've done these things because I am passionate about the subject matter. I learned to take these positive steps not by continuing to reinvent the wheel but by finally asking others and learning from others. I guess I fit the "guy" stereotype of not asking for directions, but I've broken through that barrier and found new success by doing so. What I present here is some of the material that has helped me and some that I aim to use shortly. No, I don't make thousands of dollars a day, but I'm betting that some of you will. It IS possible and many are doing it. I don't because money is not the most important thing in my life. A few years ago my wife and I bought some acreage with a couple of fixer upper houses - one for us and one for visiting guests. It's a lot of work maintaining the buildings, caring for the land, cutting firewood, building greenhouses, becoming energy dependent, etc. On top of that we have 6 children and 9 grand children that keep us very busy. On this land we intend to become self-sufficient and energy independent so I started ToolsforSurvival.com to share resources and document my progress. Our land and our family comes first so I work hard enough to be able to live a simple life and have time for living each day to the fullest. But that's my choice. You, depending on your priorities, may make income number one right now. If you do, I don't blame you. I've worked really hard all of my life to get where I am and for many years making a good living to provide a good home and education for my kids was number one. So, look at the categories here. I believe that every one of these resources contains at least one single idea, an inspiration that is worth WAY more than the purchase price.
